AI Enters Live Sports: Duff Foreman Joins the 2026 New Mexico Open Broadcast

中継

Could artificial intelligence become the next major voice in live sports broadcasting?

Duff Foreman™, an autonomous and conversational AI broadcast personality created by Gopher Hole Productions, is scheduled to join acclaimed golf broadcasters Notah Begay III and Ryan Burr during the 2026 New Mexico Open at Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort.

Scheduled for September 14–16, 2026, the appearance could mark a significant development in professional golf broadcasting. Organizers believe Duff Foreman could become the first known autonomous AI personality to appear on-screen and interact live with human broadcasters during a professional golf tournament.

Unlike traditional AI tools that provide statistics, graphics or prerecorded narration, Duff Foreman is designed to participate in live, unscripted conversations as tournament play unfolds.

During the broadcast, he is expected to provide:

• Real-time golf commentary
• Player swing analysis
• Course-management insights
• Weather and course-condition updates
• Rules of Golf information
• Explanations of player strategy and shot selection

Duff Foreman will join four-time PGA TOUR winner and NBC Sports golf analyst Notah Begay III, along with veteran broadcaster Ryan Burr.

The 2026 New Mexico Open will be held at Turtleback Mountain Golf & Resort in Elephant Butte, New Mexico. Admission will be free throughout championship week.
